PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County health officials are reporting one new positive COVID-19 case on Thursday, bringing the total to 842 Piscataway residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. No additional information regarding the new case was provided.
The reported death toll remains at 34 for the township.
There are 16,547 positive cases in Middlesex County and 1,094 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.
New Jersey has 442 new positive COVID19 test results, bringing our statewide cumulative total since March 4th to 168,107. There were 38 deaths overnight, bringing the statewide total to 12,800 of New Jersey residents who have succumbed to the coronavirus, according to Thursday's update from the State Department of Health.
"The spot positivity rate for COVID-19 tests from June 14th was 2.94%. Our rate of transmission is 0.75. These are two of the best measures for tracking COVID-19’s spread,” said Governor Phil Murphy during his Thursday briefing. “Today’s numbers tell us that our work to crush the curves has been working — we need to keep at it.”
