PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County health officials reported 1 new positive COVID-19 case in Piscataway over the last 24-hour period, bringing the total to 780 residents who have tested positive. No additional information regarding the new case was provided.
The reported death toll remains at 28 for the township.
There are now 14,332 positive cases in Middlesex County and 841 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.
New Jersey now has 142,704 positive COVID-19 cases, an additional 1,216 in the last 24 hours, and 9,946 deaths, an increase of 244 according to the State Department of Health.
There are now 3,958 hospitalizations reported statewide. At its peak on April 14, the Garden State had as many as 8,084 hospitalizations — a number that has significantly declined over the past few weeks, reported health officials.
There were 366 hospital discharges and 171 additional hospitalizations Wednesday.
