PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County health officials are reporting 5 new positive COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total to 785 Piscataway residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.  

Sadly, one death was reported, increasing the death toll to 29 for the township.

There are now 14,429 positive cases in Middlesex County and 865 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.

New Jersey now has 143,905 positive COVID-19 cases, an additional 1,201 in the last 24 hours, according to the State Department of Health.

State officials reported 201 new COVID-19 deaths Friday, raising the state total to 10,138 deaths, spanning from March 24 to May 14.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant in following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New Jersey, and public health officials when it comes to social distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and disinfecting common areas. These are the best ways to reduce the rapid spread of the virus.
