PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County health officials reported 1 new positive COVID-19 case on Tuesday, bringing the total to 806 residents who have tested positive in Piscataway. No additional information regarding the new case was provided.

The reported death toll remains at 31 for the township.

Statewide, there are 155,764 cases, an increase of 672 overnight, with 11,191 deaths reported, an increase of 47 since Monday, according to the State Department of Health.

The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in New Jersey as of late Sunday was 2,723, a 22 percent drop in state hospitalizations over the last week.

There are now 15,499 positive cases in Middlesex County and 959 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.

Middlesex County health officials will open a new drive-thru COVID-19 testing site in Piscataway at 1 Ericsson Drive on Thurs., May 28 and Fri. May 29. Testing is free and by appointment only. 

Residents who wish to be tested can schedule an appointment up to three days in advance by visiting middlesexcountynj.gov/covid19testing or calling 732-745-3100.
