PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County health officials reported one new positive COVID-19 case on Friday, bringing the total to 869 residents who have tested positive in Piscataway. No additional information regarding the new case was provided.

The reported death toll remains at 34 for the township.

According to covid19.nj.gov, there are now 16,884 positive cases in Middlesex County and 1,132 confirmed deaths.

The New Jersey Department of Health reported on Friday a total of 172,742 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 123 days ago, and a total of 13,308 deaths during that time, an increase of 57 overnight. 

There have been 1,463,913 COVID-19 tests administered statewide.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant in following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New Jersey, and public health officials when it comes to social distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and disinfecting common areas. These are the best ways to reduce the rapid spread of the virus.
