PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County officials reported on Friday that there are now 91 positive cases of people with COVID-19 in Piscataway.

No other information regarding the new cases was immediately available. They are under investigation by the Middlesex County Health Department.

Health officials also report there are now 1,706 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced that in the 24 hours preceding his Friday press conference, an additional 4,372 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the state, bringing New Jersey’s total number to 29,895. 

State officials said that an additional 113 people with coronavirus died bringing the death toll across New Jersey to 646 people. An increasing number of cases is expected as the total amount of positive cases throughout the state has increased.

Residents are urged to continue practicing social distancing and to limit gatherings in the effort to flatten the curve.
