PISCATAWAY, NJ – Middlesex County health officials reported 4 new positive COVID-19 cases in Piscataway over the last 24-hour period, bringing the total to 753 residents who have tested positive in Piscataway. No additional information regarding the new cases was provided.

The reported death toll remains at 20 for the township.

According to covid19.nj.gov, there are now 13,254 positive cases in Middlesex County and 706 deaths.

Statewide, there are 131,890 cases, an increase of 1,297 overnight with 8,549 deaths reported, an increase of 305, according to the State Department of Health. 

In other statewide statistics, 1,549 patients were reported in either critical or intensive care – down by roughly 25% from just three weeks ago. 1,146 ventilators are currently in use, a number that continues to decline.

"As of 10:00 PM last night, 5,221 COVID19 patients were being treated in our hospitals. This curve continues its steady overall decline," Governor Murphy said.

Health officials urge residents to continue practicing social distancing and limit gatherings in the effort to flatten the curve.
