PISCATAWAY, NJ — Members of the public who wish to be tested for COVID-19 can do so at Stelton Pharmacy in Piscataway through the end of June.
“We are one of eleven pharmacies around New Jersey chosen to be a test collection site for the coronavirus,” said pharmacist, Amy Buch.
According to a news release, testing is being provided free of charge through a partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to help address the COVID-19 crises.
Stelton Pharmacy will provide appointment-based, COVID-19 test collection for prescreened individuals through a drive-thru/drive-up/walk-up format. Appointments can be made at https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/.
The test is self-administered with a nasal swab and once the sample kit is sealed, pharmacy staff will submit the test to an authorized laboratory for processing. Results are ready in three to five business days.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) recommends testing for anyone with or without symptoms of COVID-19 which may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Symptoms include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat or a new loss of taste or smell.
“We need widespread coronavirus testing now,” said Buch. “We all want life to return to normal and one way to help is more COVID-19 testing options. We’re proud to serve Piscataway in efforts to fight this virus.”
Stelton Pharmacy is located at 179 Stelton Road in Piscataway. For more information visit https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/ or call the pharmacy at 732-424-8080.
