PISCATAWAY, NJ - This is my sweet sister Jeanne Carney. She is a lifelong resident of Piscataway and is currently observing the quarantine in her group home at 1218 Brookside Road. Jeanne has Down Syndrome and has been a fixture in this town since the 70's.
Tomorrow is her Birthday. Normally, Jeanne would spend her Birthday weekend with me, and we'd have a big dinner party with lots of family and friends... but not this year.
Jeanne understands why we can't celebrate now and that we've postponed her annual Birthday shenanigans until after the virus is gone.
Still, Jeanne is understandably sad.
In an effort to cheer her up, we'll be doing a Happy Birthday Car Parade, passing by her house, where she can watch from her window. It would be FANTASTIC if we could get a whole bunch of vehicles in this parade... maybe even an emergency vehicle with a siren. Jeanne would be overjoyed, overwhelmed and thrilled beyond measure.
Can you participate?
All you'd need to do is meet up with us at 2:15 pm tomorrow, April 5th, on Brookside Road where it meets Metlars Lane. If you want to decorate your car for the occasion, bear in mind that her house will be on the right, so balloons/posters/streamers should be on the passenger side.
It would only take a teeny part of your day and there's no risk of contact... please, please, PLEASE consider participating. It would make Jeanne, who is a true Piscataway girl, so very happy.
