PISCATAWAY, NJ – Piscataway Police and the Board of Education invite township students and their families to participate in the annual National Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd.

“Students, families and police officers will take an active role in commuting to school tomorrow in participation of this coast-to-coast event to promote safety, health and school spirit,” said police in a Monday Facebook post. “By making the trip to school together, we take the time to know the safe route and our community becomes a safer place for everyone.”

According to the Walk and Bike to School website, “close to 4000 schools nationwide registered to participate in Wednesday's event.”
