PISCATAWAY, NJ – A roof fire at the central heating and cooling plant for two Rutgers campuses prompted the evacuation of the facility Friday morning.

According to a Rutgers spokesperson, university police received a fire alarm at 10:21 a.m. from the Bush Campus cogeneration plant located at 592 Titsworth Place in Piscataway.

Officials said the fire was deemed accidental, the result of duct work removal from the building which is being renovated.
