PISCATAWAY, NJ -- No one was injured after a car fire spread to a William Street home in Piscataway on Tuesday.

The mid-afternoon fire near New Market Road and the pond closed that part of William Street as crews from the New Market Fire Department, Arbor Hose Company #1, North Stelton Fire Company, Holmes Marshall Fire Department and the South Plainfield Fire Department battled the blaze.

A late model Mazda sedan and a late model Jeep Cherokee parked in the driveway were destroyed in the fire. At least one unit in the multi-family home also sustained significant fire damage.
