PISCATAWAY, NJ – Piscataway Police Officer Nicholas Summonte saved a fledgling red-tailed hawk that was caught in a goal net at the home of Councilman Steven Cahn, who represents Ward 3 on the Piscataway Township Council.

 In a Facebook post, Piscataway Police said: 

“Officer Nicholas Summonte responded to the rescue of a young red-tailed hawk who flew into a goal net on Councilman Steven Cahn’s lawn.

The juvenile bird was successfully freed from the ordeal and appeared thankful before returning to flight at a higher altitude and with the knowledge of a positive human encounter.
