PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Piscataway Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday evening, August 6th.

Events will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. along Stelton Road in front of Westergard Library between Lakeview Avenue and Old New Brunswick Road.

The Piscataway Police Department describes NNO as a fun event for the entire family that will include crime prevention and safety tips, a prescription drug drop-off area, visits with law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel, displays from various community groups, great food and music.

It sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back, they said.

The Piscataway Public Relations Advisory Commission will distribute 250 backpacks filled with school supplies to “help our children be ready to learn for the upcoming school year,” said officials. Backpacks will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
