PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Piscataway Police remind drivers that they may be ticketed and towed if they park their cars facing the wrong way along township roads.
In a Facebook post on Monday, police officials said, “parking the wrong way on a roadway within the township is a safety concern and failure to properly park may result in a summons.”
“All motorists must park on the right side of the roadway, parallel and within 6 inches to the edge of the road, facing the direction of traffic, unless otherwise marked by sign or allowed by ordinance.
“By complying with the law, we reduce accidents. A motorist who improperly parks a vehicle puts themselves and others at risk due to blind spots and driving into the flow of traffic when re-entering the roadway.
“The Piscataway Police request your assistance in complying with the law in order to promote the safety of motorists, pedestrians and the overall community.”
