PISCATAWAY, NJ - Piscataway Police issued issued the following traffic alert for the township’s annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27th.

“The Piscataway Township Annual Memorial Day Parade hosted by American Legion Post #261 will start promptly at 11 a.m. Monday morning, and will proceed from Rock Avenue and West Seventh Street to South Washington Avenue, terminating at the American Legion Post 261, 840 South Washington Avenue where an open house will be held and refreshments will be served.

“Expect traffic delays for the duration of the parade. Plan an alternate route if possible.

“The intersection of West Seventh Street and Rock Avenue will close to thru traffic at approximately 10:50 am, to allow parade preparations. West Seventh Street and South Washington Avenue will be closed to thru traffic as parade participants near.

“If you are planning to attend the parade as a spectator, we encourage you to plan an early arrival. Parking will not be permitted on South Washington Avenue or West Seventh Street. Parking is also prohibited along Summers Avenue from South Washington to Eva Street and Carlton Avenue, west of South Washington Avenue. Please park on side streets where parking is permitted. Please park smartly and safely. Do not move any barricades or cones. Please do not set seating arrangements on any sidewalk that will prevent the flow of pedestrian traffic.
