PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Franklin Warriors rolled over Piscataway Braves, 38-0 on the road to give the team a perfect 8-0 regular season and a ticket to its first Middle School Championship game at Franklin High School next Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6 pm.
"Our team's 8-0 season is not a mistake," FMS Coach, Blair Wilson told TAPinto. "The team has been working hard since June. With hard work and dedication, this is what happens."
Stand out Warrior, Romeo Carmen-King scored three touchdowns. His first on a 40-yard run, and he scored his second touchdown on a 30-yard run while playing under center as the quarterback.
Carmen-King capped off his scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run. Tyjhir Williams also had a big game on both sides of the ball. Williams scored a touchdown on a 20-yard run, and he returned an interception for 40-yards.
The team defense not only shut out Piscataway, but it also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery in the endzone by Joesph Nawachuckaw.
Wilson said the players and coaches took things one game at a time with the ultimate goal of winning. The coaches challenged the players to be their best on and off the field, and according to Wilson, they responded well to being challenged.
"This Wednesday we marked off our second to last team goal," Wilson told TAPinto. "We have nine as a team. The last goal has Plainfield's name on it."
Carmen-King also ran in two, two-point conversions, Williams also had one. Xavier Henderson ran in a two-point conversion as well.
"We couldn't be prouder of how this group came together as a team," Wilson told TAPinto. "This team came together and became brothers and sisters. Franklin make sure you are there on Wednesday to support these young Warriors."
