WESTFIELD, NJ - The Piscataway High School varsity boys and girls soccer teams both hit the end of the road on Friday as both fell in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 quarterfinals on Friday to Westfield.
The sixth-seeded boys team fell 2-1 to the third-seeded Blue Devils while the 11th-seeded girls dropped a 2-0 decision the third seed as well.
Mathew Blake and AJ Bertch scored first half goals off assists from Max Rokhsar and Chris Giglio, respectively, for Westfield (9-4-5).
Goalie Ryan Friedberg made seven saves.
Piscataway (14-6-1) got a goal from George Hayden Louis-Ferdinand.
With 14 wins, the Chiefs have come a long way since winning five in 2016. They’ve been on a steady incline over the last couple of years.
Piscataway won nine contests in 2017 and 11 last season.
On the girls side, Faith Dobosiewicz made a free kick goal and Grace Lanza also found the back of the net. Amanda Cerrachio had an assist.
Erin Harris recorded the shutout with three saves.
The Lady Chiefs end the year 7-10-1.
The boys and girls teams both reached the quarterfinals of the Greater Middlesex Conference last month.
