6 Things to do in Plainfield This Weekend

PLAINFIELD, NJ - The upcoming weekend in Plainfield will include chances to shop for holiday gifts and art, hear a Yuletide concert, and for students to mix it up.

FRIDAY

  • The 2017 Middle School Mixer is a fundraiser for Hubbard Middle School's 8th grade class.  Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are invited to attend.  Bring your school I.D.  Hubbard Middle School is located at 661 West 8th Street.

SATURDAY

  • Dairy Queen will hold its next giveaway event, starting at 8:00 a.m.  One hundred bikes, helmets and children's books will be available to those in need.  Dairy Queen is located at 1367 South Avenue.
  • The Friends of the Plainfield Senior Citizens Center is hosting a Holiday Bazaar.  There will be crafts, jewelry, books, toys, art, and more.  The center is located at 400 East Front Street.  For more info, call 908-753-3506.
  • Missed the Holiday Craft Fair last Saturday due to the snow?  The vendors will be back at  at duCret School of Art, 1030 Central Avenue, 10:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Parking is available at the back of the building. 
  • In addition to the craft fair at duCret, there will be an Art Fair, with original paintings available for sale.
  • Crescent Concerts will present Yuletide by Candlelight.  The glow of candles will brighten the sanctuary in this free performance.  The 5:00 p.m. concert is at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, 716 Watchung Avenue.
