PLAINFIELD, NJ - The festivities will begin on Wednesday at 10 am with the Annual July 4th Parade which will include over 74 groups of marching bands, Plainfield officials and floats celebrating the theme of Plainfield’s  Arts, Culture, and Community. This year’s Parade will be led by Grand Marshall Wendell Craig Woods, a local 20 yr Plainfield resident. Mr. Woods has had many active roles in the community and is well known as a gospel musician and song writer. In addition to serving as Minister of Music at Shiloh Baptist Church for almost 30 years, Mr. Woods is the Vice President on the Plainfield Symphony Society Board of Directors, and Secretary for the Plainfield Cultural and Heritage Commission. He has represented Ward 4 as the Democratic Committee Member and is also an assistant Chapter representative for the North New Jersey Chapter of Gospel Music Workshop of America. 

At 5 pm the star studded line up of entertainers will hit the stage at Cedarbrook Park. The Legendary Ladies of SKYY Singing Their Classics, The Sounds of SURFACE Rocking Their Hits, 90s Platinum Group ALLURE, 3 of The Hottest Bands Salsa Sensation THE KONTROL BAND, Reggae/Calypso Band CASPLASH, THE NEW JERSEY CONNECTION BAND also From NBC's "The Voice" Singer J. CHOSEN and Amazing Vocalist STEVE LOVELL will delight the crowds. BKS1 Radio will be the hosts for the evening.

This free concert is sponsored by The City of Plainfield and the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Fireworks will take place at dusk.
