PLAINFIELD, NJ - The City of Plainfield celebrated on Friday by welcoming ABC Supply Co., Inc. to its new location within the city.

ABC Supply Co., Inc. executives, New Jersey Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Leslie Anderson, and South Second Street Redevelopment Partners (J.G. Petrucci & Company and TD+Partners) joined Mayor Adrian O. Mapp, Plainfield City Council members and other city representatives for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new 44,000 square-foot facility in the Fourth Ward.

ABC Supply Co, headquartered in Wisconsin, is the nation’s largest roofing and siding wholesaler in the country, with over 700 locations.  The Plainfield facility, at 700 South Second Street, is Part I of a multiphase $30 million housing and economic development project that includes a new five-story building made up of ninety units of affordable housing slated to begin later in 2017.

Carlos Sanchez, the Director of Economic Development, kicked off the day's ceremony, followed by comments from Mayor Adrian O. Mapp, who recognized and welcomed attendees and key project players.

According to Mapp, economic development has been, and continues to be at the forefront of his agenda, with the goal of redeveloping and revitalizing all corners of the City to restore confidence in investors. “This is just the beginning” stated Mapp, and he invited other investors to be a part of the renaissance of the City.

Representatives on behalf of Senator Menendez presented the Senate Certificate to ABC Supply Co., Inc. for its investment in the City of Plainfield and the use of the new Market Tax Credit Program.

Leslie Anderson, longtime Plainfield resident and Executive Director of the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority (NJRA), was instrumental in seeing the project from conception to fruition. NJRA provided the initial $1 million investment needed to remediate the brownfield site. Anderson credits the success of the project to the relationships among the necessary parties that were created, removing potential obstacles to the project's progress.

TD+ Partners applauded the City’s complete support of the initiative, ensuring that all necessary permits were obtained in order to keep the project both on time and on budget. Other financial partners include Provident Bank, Capital One and RBC.

ABC Supply Co. representatives Marc Singer and Giovanni Petrole thanked the City of Plainfield, a city where they have been doing business for over 40 years.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a reception inside of the warehouse.

The Best Sad Day

When you don’t have to adhere to a train schedule or work a nine to five job, it’s easier to make spontaneous vacation plans.

Since I was braving a trip back to Maine in June to mark one year since the accident, I decided to add an extra week to my excursion.  I would knock off two more states in my bucket list quest to hike a part of the Appalachian Trail in every state.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ- Back in 2013, the New York Jets submitted a plan to build a helipad at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center (AHJTC) in Florham Park. "Shall We Begin?" Winter Comes to Westeros on Game of Thrones

July 19, 2017

Considering Game of Thrones fans waited 448 days for the premiere of the shortest season to date, many were disappointed by the anticlimactic nature of Sunday’s episode. But the way I see it, Ed Sheeran cameo aside, the show writers did everything right: enemies were destroyed, crucial information was revealed and the stage was set for absolute chaos in Westeros.
