PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield's Planning Board, according to a May 18 legal notice, will hear from applicant J&C Realty, Inc. about a house of worship that would occupy an existing 2,100-square-foot portion of a building at 120-128 West 7th Street.

The notice indicates the applicant is seeking approval for a change in tenancy/change in use, a site plan approval waiver, and a "c" variance for parking.  The project is located in the TODD/TD zoning district, and houses of worship are a permitted use.

City of Plainfield Planning Board Notice of Hearing PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that J&C Realty, Inc. has filed an application with the Planning Board of the City of Plainfield, for a change in tenancy approval/change in use approval, a site plan approval waiver (or, in the alternative, site plan/amended site plan approval), and a parking variance so a house of worship can occupy an existing 2100 square foot portion of the existing building located on property at 120-128 West 7th Street, City of Plainfield, New Jersey, which property is identified on the tax maps of the City of Plainfield as Block 712, Lot 2. 

This case is identified as PB-2018-35. The subject parcel is located in the City's TODD/TD zoning district. 

Please take further notice that this application does not seek authority for any changes to the existing structure or any site plan changes and that houses of worship are a permitted use in the TODD zone. 

Please take further notice that this application includes a request for any and all variances, waivers, site plan approvals, or other relief as may be required by the Planning Board to approve this application, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Site plan waiver (or in the alternative, site plan approval or amended site plan approval). 
  2. Change in tenancy/change in use. 
  3. A "c" variance for parking: 85 spaces required; 42 spaces existing and proposed. 

Please take further notice that a public hearing on the application has been scheduled by the Planning Board for June 6, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., at the City Hall Library Meeting Room (First Floor), 515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield, New Jersey. When this matter is called, you may appear either in person or by agent or attorney and present any objections or comments you may have with regard to this application.
