PLAINFIELD, NJ - A September 3 legal notice indicates that the New Jersey Schools Development Authority, or NJSDA, is seeking bids to design and construct a Plainfield Elementary School that was formerly the site of Woodland Elementary School.

The notice states that the school will educate 756 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.  The building will be three stories tall according to the notice, although the NJSDA site notes it will be two stories.  It will be approximately 120,000 square feet.

BID ADVERTISEMENT Sealed bid proposals will be received by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority ("NJSDA") at their offices at P.O. Box 991, 32 East Front Street, Trenton, NJ 08625, Attention: Alison Perry - Procurement Analyst, for the following work: Contract No.: ET-0100-B01 Contract Name: New Plainfield Elementary School District: Plainfield County: Union CCE Range: $45,000,000 - $50,000,000 Brief description of work: The New Plainfield Elementary School will be designed and constructed to educate 756 students in kindergarten through grade five. The building will encompass 3 stories and approximately 120,000 square feet. The associated site improvements will include play areas, service yard and parking. The Project will be constructed on property owned by Plainfield Public Schools, on the same site as the Woodland Elementary School which was demolished by the NJSDA in preparation for this project. The parcel is Block 626, Lot 1 in the City of Plainfield. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq.
