SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ. -- The Spring Blood Drive at Union Catholic that was postponed this past Wednesday has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 9. It will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the main foyer at Union Catholic.
Students, staff, parents, alumni and all members of the community that are 16 years and older are invited to participate in this great cause, which will be held in conjunction with the Atlantic Health System. The blood that’s donated will go to the hospitals at Morristown and Overlook.
This will be the second Blood Drive of the school year hosted by Union Catholic, which also hosted one in December. There are scholarship opportunities for students who donate blood, and UC seniors who donate at both Blood Drives during this school year will be eligible to wear a red cord at graduation in May.
Everyone who donates is asked to bring a photo ID with them, and 16 year-olds need written parental consent. Free drinks and snacks will be available. Those interested in donating blood can sign up in Room 227 at Union Catholic. Walk ups are welcome.
