PLAINFIELD, NJ - How will you spend this weekend in Plainfield?  Here are some ideas to help you celebrate!

On Friday, the Plainfield Arts Council will kick off its month of musical events with a fundraiser at the French School of Music, 210 West 8th Street, at 7:00 p.m. - Plainfield Arts Council to Hold Queen City October Music Festival

Start your Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at Dairy Queen - Plainfield Dairy Queen Bike Giveaway

9:00 a.m. Fire Division to Hold Parade & Safety Fair to Commemorate Fire Prevention Week - a City Advisory was issued, advising residents:

The Plainfield Police Division would like to advise all: On Saturday, October 7th, 2017 from 8:30am until approximately 10:30am, Watchung Avenue from City Hall to Front Street will be closed for the Fire Prevention Parade. Also, the area of Park Avenue from Second Street to Front Street will be closed from 8:30am until approximately 3:30pm for the Fire Prevention Fair. Please plan accordingly.

4:00 p.m. Plainfield’s Annual FOPPL Wine Discovery Event to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

7:00 p.m. Plainfield Symphony: Renowned Pianist Robert Taub in 98th Season Opener - there will be a pre-concert talk with Robert Taub and Charles Prince - 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.  And immediately following the Symphony performance, there will be an After Party event at one of Plainfield’s private historic residences. Admission to the after party is $50 and tickets can be purchased at or paid at the door with a reservation.


On Sunday, at 5:00 p.m. the Plainfield Arts Council will sponsor an event with the Plainfield Music Club at FUSP.
