WESTFIELD, NJ — No one was injured Tuesday evening when a car crashed into a two-family house on the corner of West Broad Street and Lamberts Mill Road.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m., after rain had slicked the streets.

“I heard this big bang and the whole house shook,” said Caroline De Freitas, who lives on the second floor. “I thought, is this a bolt of lightning or something? I didn’t know what it was.”

Westfield firefighters were on the scene, and Westfield police were investigating the cause of the crash.
