SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Does your “elevator pitch” grab the listener’s attention, leaving them wanting to know more about you? Many job seekers, and even consultants and business owners, miss the boat with their marketing messages, trying hard to inform the listener and finding that no one cares.
Developing an effective marketing message is one of the most important things you can do to accelerate your job search. Career expert John Hadley will be at the Scotch Plains Public Library on Monday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m., to discuss how to develop an effective marketing message.
Career Search Counselor John Hadley will discuss exactly what to do to create a marketing message that people will remember. At the end of the workshop, attendees will understand the biggest mistakes even experienced professionals make when talking about what they do, how to articulate a memorable message clearly and succinctly, and how to leverage this knowledge to create consistent visibility.
John Hadley helps job seekers frustrated with their search. He also works with professionals struggling to become and be seen as influential leaders. He offers a free Career Tips email newsletter to 9,500 subscribers, each month bringing valuable advice on marketing yourself for a career search and for accelerating your career. You can find that and a variety of other career resources on his website at www.JHACareers.com. Connect with the library’s Career Networking Group on LinkedIn, Career Networking Group at SPPL.
