PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Neighborhood Health Services Corporation invites the public to celebrate National Health Center Week at events in Plainfield and Elizabeth.
The 2017 theme is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: The Key to Healthier Communities.”
Health centers serve over 25 million Americans at more than 9,000 sites across the country. And one in every fifteen people living in the U.S. depends on services that health centers provide - high quality, cost effective, and accessible care.
Health centers, part of the National Association of Community Health Centers, or NACHC, have celebrated National Health Center Week for over 30 years.
NACHC serves as the national health care advocacy organization for America’s medically underserved and uninsured, and health centers have recognized the benefits of coming together to showcase their programs and deliver a strong message nationwide.
The local events include health and dental screenings, nutrition information and educational demonstrations, giveaways and door prizes, and more.
