PLAINFIELD, NJ - Communities across the nation will be coming together on Tuesday evening to celebrate National Night Out. The annual community building campaign is a partnership that promotes the relationships between the various law enforcement agencies and local residents to build safer communities.

The City of Plainfield will kick off its celebration at the City Hall Plaza and will include a bookbag give away, music, food, kids corner and an opportunity to meet law enforcement.  Festivities begin at 6:30 pm

Netherwood Height Neighbors will also be celebrating the occasion at Leland Park next to Cook School at 6:30 pm until 9 pm.

National Night out is celebrating its 35th year and to date 38 million neighbors in 16 thousand communities have participated in this event.
