“The City of Plainfield has accomplished a great deal together over the past four years, which is why our Inaugural Reception is dedicated to, and organized for our residents. I am extremely proud of our diverse and resurgent community and the vibrant transformation that is taking place. I am eager to begin a new term, and I welcome our new council members and look forward to their new perspectives, ideas, and energy. I am excited to move forward and build on the tremendous progress that we’ve made,” said Plainfield Mayor Adrian O. Mapp.

This will mark the beginning of Mayor Mapp’s second term in office. In his first term, over a quarter of a billion dollars in private investment generated several economic development projects inclusive of new shops and restaurants, affordable housing, transit-oriented residential developments for young professionals, major commercial projects, and new recreational facilities for Plainfield youth.
