SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- A 71-year-old man was listed in serious condition following a car crash between a Honda CR-V and a white Ford Taurus on Raritan Road near the historic Frazee House in Scotch Plains late Saturday afternoon. The man was transported to RWJ Medical Center and was listed in serious condition, while the driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, according to Scotch Plains police chief Ted Conley.

The Taurus was heading from the direction of Ashbrook Golf Course toward the Frazee House, and the Honda CR-V, driven by the older gentleman, was heading in the opposite direction, crossed the yellow line, and stuck the oncoming car, according to a witness who heard the crash from inside his home and went to the scene.

The Fanwood Rescue Squad was the first to arrive and treat the driver of the Honda. Other responders included Union County EMS, the Scotch Plains police and Scotch Plains fire department, according to the witness, who asked to remain anonymous.
