PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield residents can learn how to rebuild, repair and improve their credit at a workshop at Visions of God Family Worship Church this week.
An August 2017 report from the Federal Reserve shows Americans had $1.021 trillion in outstanding revolving credit in June of this year. And the APR for new card offers has reached an all time high of 16.13%, according to the CreditCards.com Weekly Credit Card Rate Report, causing those with the lowest credit scores to struggle the most to make payments.
The Consumer Financial Literacy Survey provides a snapshot of consumers’ financial knowledge and behaviors associated with personal finance. Some of the findings in their 2017 report illustrate that:
- 39% of U.S. adults carry credit card debt month to month, and 16% roll over $2,500 or more each month;
- Almost two in five worry about not having enough money set aside for retirement;
- Over one in four U.S. adults do not save anything for retirement.
The Plainfield workshop for financial success will take place on Thursday, Aug. 24th and will provide information on how to increase your credit score, and eliminate errors that may be on your credit report.
Visions of God Family Worship Church is located at 350 Leland Avenue in Plainfield. The workshop starts at 7:00 pm.
