A shooting that left a man dead in Plainfield late yesterday is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Friday.
The deceased victim has been identified as 32-year-old Shamar Coleman of Plainfield.
At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, Plainfield Police Division patrol units responding to a report of a shooting at a restaurant on the 1000 block of East Second Street found Coleman at that location, having been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident is now under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Plainfield Police Division, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
