SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Library has announced its book club dates for February 2017.

On Monday, Feb. 6 at 7:00 PM, the Evening Book Club will be meeting to discuss Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff.  A dazzling examination of a marriage, it is also a portrait of creative partnership written by one of the best writers of her generation. Every story has two sides. Every relationship has two perspectives. And sometimes, it turns out, the key to a great marriage is not its truths but its secrets.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 1:00 PM, the Afternoon Book Club will discuss Common People: In Pursuit of My Ancestors by Alison Light.  In the last weeks of her father’s life, Light embarked on an attempt to trace the history of her family as far back as she could reasonably go. The result is a clear-eyed, fascinating, frequently moving account of the lives of everyday people, of the tough decisions and hard work, the good luck and bad breaks that chart the course of a life.

Scotlib’s book clubs are free and open to interested members of the public.
