PLAINFIELD, NJ - Thanks to the American Red Cross Home Fire Preparedness Campaign, Smoke Alarms Save Lives, Plainfield residents can make an appointment to have free smoke alarms installed in their homes.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, three out of five home fire deaths happen from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.

The American Red Cross has launched Smoke Alarms Save Lives in partnership with the City of Plainfield and the Plainfield Fire Division to help Plainfield families be better prepared to prevent home fires.
