VOORHEES, NJ – New Jersey American Water has announced that Gail Driscoll was recently named External Affairs Manager for New Jersey American Water and New York American Water. In this position, she will be mainly responsible for managing external communications for the north and central regions of New Jersey American Water’s operations, and providing communications strategy and support to New York American Water’s operations. New Jersey American Water and New York American Water are part of American Water’s Eastern division.
Driscoll has more than 20 years of communications experience in industry, government and non-profit organizations. Prior to joining American Water, she was with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region II, most recently serving as deputy project manager for the National Flood Insurance Program Call Center in Denton, Texas, and prior to that as Public Affairs specialist and private sector lead for Hurricane Sandy Recovery for 13 impacted counties in New York. Her other previous positions include serving as government relations liaison, long-term recovery for the American Red Cross in New York, Public Affairs manager with Merck & Co., in Rahway, N.J., and as an environmental specialist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in New York.
A longtime resident of Cranford, N.J., Driscoll currently resides in Manasquan, N.J. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the nonprofit Union County Economic Development Corporation, a position she has held for the past 17 years. She is also a past board member with the Chemistry Council of New Jersey, United Way of Greater Union County and the local American Red Cross chapter, and a past president of the Linden Kiwanis Club.
Driscoll earned a master’s degree in environmental science from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in biology and art from the College of St. Elizabeth in Madison, N.J.
