WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Town Council passed a resolution this week to award contract for a company to create a concrete border around the South Avenue traffic circle.
“You may have noticed, in the traffic circle the old brickwork that when a car or a truck went over it bricks went flying into the roadway — we removed all that,” Town Administrator Jim Gildea explained during the council’s conference meeting Tuesday.
“This is the first step of redoing the circle from a beautification perspective,” Gildea said. Once the new border is finished, he said, the department of public works will add plantings.
“It should be very nice as everything gets done,” Gildea said.
