SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Fire Department will be hosting a wetdown for its newest apparatus, Engine 1684, on Saturday, July 23 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Scotch Plains Municipal Lot.

A wetdown is a dedication/celebration of a new fire vehicle. Fire departments from nearby towns come and “wet down” the new vehicle by spraying it with water from their engines or trucks. It is an opportunity for local residents to come out and see the new engine, as well as meet and speak with members of the SPFD.

Live music will be performed by local band Wolf Creek, there will be bounce houses for the children and food and beverages available. There is a $15 entrance fee which includes all of the above as well as a plastic Engine 1684 Wetdown mug.
