NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A man was reportedly assaulted with a sharp object while trying to break up a fight in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 22, Rutgers University police said.
A fight had broken out on High Street between Somerset and Hamilton streets in New Brunswick at around 12:58 a.m. on Sunday, according to authorities.
The man tried to break up the fight between two people he did not know, police said, at which point he was stabbed. Police said descriptions of the perpetrators are currently limited.
The off-campus crime alert describes the victim only as “not affiliated with Rutgers University." He was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
