PISCATAWAY, NJ — A Plainfield firefighter and his family were displaced after a fast-moving fire ripped through their township home on Greenwood Drive in Piscataway on Wednesday morning.
Piscataway firefighters from Arbor Hose Company #1, New Market Fire Department and North Stelton Fire Company responded to fight the blaze along with crews from the South Plainfield Fire Department.
Fire crews used excavating equipment to tear apart the split-level house as firefighters on the ground and on an aerial ladder truck worked to extinguish hotspots.
No injuries were reported. Representatives from the American Red Cross were on scene to provide assistance to the family.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
