PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield's The Coffee Box will host a talk with MissionCleanWater founder James Leitner of Scotch Plains, NJ.
On Wednesday, Nov. 29, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Leitner will talk about water, health, and adventure. He will share his story about walking across North America from May 17th to Oct. 6th while pulling almost 90 pounds of water, and what his plans are for clean water.
Leitner's MissionCleanWater is an organization working to provide clean water and sanitation to remote communities. His 3,250 mile walk from Princeton, NJ to San Francisco, CA while pulling ten gallons of water took him over mountains, and through deserts and plains, to raise funds for projects that include repairing water infrastructure and training communities on well maintenance in Tanzania.
He also completed a marathon a month for a year while carrying five gallons of water before leaving for his trip.
The talk at The Coffee Box will cover topics including how Leitner started working with clean water, his journey walking across North America, and how water can benefit a community. His work has provided over 5,000 people with clean water, and he plans to help many more.
The Coffee Box will be showcasing Intelligentsia’s Kunga Maitu Kenya coffee which won the “Best in Inventory” competition. It is a direct trade coffee with huge flavors of candied grapefruit, chamomile and clove.
The Coffee Box is located at 1359 South Avenue in Plainfield, NJ.
