Tuesday April 4, 2017   4pm at of 600 block West 4th Street, Plainfield New Jersey

National United Youth Council Inc will be holding a prayer vigil with anti-violence activists, clergy and neighborhood residents in a call to stop gun violence on the anniversary of the shooting death of Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

Early this morning around 4am police found a male victim shot dead on West 4th street.  Plainfield had a record 12 murders last year with the highest homicide rate in Union county.  "Gun violence is what killed Dr King 49 years ago and is what killing many black men in streets across America" said Salaam Ismial, Co-Chairman of NJ Study Commission on Violence and NUYC Director
