NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A 45-year-old city man was struck and fatally injured while attempting to cross Route 18 in New Brunswick early this morning.

Christoph Freese was attempting to cross Route 18 near Commercial Avenue Tuesday, at 4:52 a.m. when he was struck by a 2006 red Dodge Charger driven by a 32-year-old man from Woodbridge, according to police.

The Dodge Charger was heading northbound on Route 18.

Police are still investing the circumstances leading to the collision. No charges have been issued at this time.
