SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - On Dec. 18, nuSalon celebrated its one-year anniversary. “It’s truly been a great year,” said owner Ling Sam, who purchased the former Brush Stop and reopened it as nuSalon in December 2013. “We are so thankful to all our clients. Our success wouldn’t be possible without them.”

Located at 132 South Plainfield Avenue in the Walgreen’s shopping center, nuSalon is more than a full-service hair and nail salon. nuSalon offers toe nail reconstruction, single-use paraffin treatments and hair removal using the nufree antibacterial/antimicrobial system. They also provide massage and reflexology and eyelash extensions, perms and tinting. Additionally, nuSalon uses only the highest quality salon exclusive products, including but not limited to, Goldwell, Inoa, Brazilian keratin treatments and Juvexin hair taming systems as well as Shellac and LCN.

“We offer the type of service one would expect in New York without having to travel out of South Plainfield,” said Ling.

Over the past year Ling has made many changes to the salon, including new pedicure chairs, nail stations, a waxing/massage room and other cosmetic changes. She also brought in a computerized record system and a professionally-trained front desk staff to assist clients and make them feel at home. Additionally, nuSalon offers a monthly Blow Dry Boot Camp where clients can learn how to style their own hair using the tools they have at home.

Ling herself has more than 22 years of cosmetology experience, and all eight of nuSalon’s license cosmetologists are always keeping up-to-date with the latest styles, trends and products. Ling often seeks client feedback on the many products she handpicks for the salon. “We want to know what clients like and don’t like before determining if it’s a product we are going to continue to use and carry,” she said, adding that nuSalon’s overall goal is client satisfaction. “We want every client to walk out of here with a smile on their face.”

Dedicated to the community, Ling is proud to have opened her business in South Plainfield and has adopted the local corner - a section of Oak Tree Avenue – which nuSalon maintains monthly.

nuSalon is open Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday and Monday by appointment. For more information call 908-753-6969 or visit nuSalon.com.
