PLAINFIELD, NJ — The 9th Annual Plainfield Queen City Historic 5K Walk/Run to benefit community non-profit causes and scholarships will kick off on Saturday, Oct. 12th. The event will include lollipop runs for children under 8 years, a 1-mile youth/family walk/run, and a 5K walk/run for both the novice and experienced. This year's theme is Celebrating 150 years of Historic Sports and Progress.
Anyone who enjoys walking or running, and supporting local youth and community fundraising should consider registering. The festivities start at 8 a.m. at Plainfield City Hall, 515 Watchung, Ave. The 1-mile fun run will begin at 9 a.m., and the 5K at 9:30 a.m.
Registration is $25 for the 5K, and $15 for the 1-mile fun run. The event and course are USATF sanctioned and certified, and awards will be given by gender, age brackets, and team divisions. All registered participants will receive a bag filled with goodies.
