CLARK, NJ — One car came off the road and into the river on the northbound Garden State Parkway by Cranford exit 137 as a result of a three-car crash just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
According to Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa, there were two men in the car that went into the water. They were able to get themselves out of the car and swim ashore before emergency responders arrived.
The other two cars involved in the crash remained on the highway with one occupant in each vehicle. Cerasa said there appeared to be no serious injuries to any of the individuals involved.
Multiple agencies have responded to the scene, including about 15 Clark responders, said Cerasa. He also said that divers will go into the water to retrieve the car shortly.
