PARSIPPANY, NJ - Parsippany is one of seven NJ school districts that had a situation requiring increased police presence and/or change in security since last week's fatal Florida high school shooting.
In addition to Parsippany's Brooklawn school lockdown several other incidents have been reported throughout the state.
In Princeton, the district changed its safety and security protocols when they noticed a former student enter and leave Princeton High School at will.
At Ramapo Ridge Middle School in Mahway, there was a threat to "shoot up" the school that was made months ago, allegedly planned for this past Friday.
In the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School district, a student was arrested in connection with a threat made to the school. This is still under investigation.
In Nutley, school was closed Friday after a video posted on Instagram was considered a potential security threat.
At East Brunswick High School, a student was arrested Friday after allegedly making a terroristic threat in an online post. There will now be armed security guards at the school.
In Franklin Township, Somerset County, a 14-year-old male student was taken into custody and charged after a threat was made against the high school.
