PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Plainfield Education Association, or PEA, will sponsor a Board of Education Candidates Forum on Thursday, Oct. 5th.

There are eight candidates running for the three seats currently held by David Rutherford, Terrence Bellamy, Sr. and Carletta Jeffers.  The positions are for a three-year term. 

The candidates, as they will appear on the ballot for the Nov. 7th election are:

The PEA issued a statement on the Candidate Forum:

"The Plainfield Education Association is honored to host the eight candidates seeking a seat on our Board of Education.

"It is no secret that our District has had a revolving door in the Superintendency over the past several months. The three victors in this election will have an immediate voice in the selection of our next district leader.

"We look forward to an engaging evening of tough questions and candid conversations to ensure an opportunity for our membership and school community to make an informed decision before casting their ballots in November."

 

The forum will be held at the BOE Administration Building, 1200 Myrtle Avenue, at 6:30 p.m.  Reservation for the forum is encouraged by Friday, Sept. 29th to vhill@plainfield.k12.nj.us.
