(South Plainfield, October 29.) The Pender and Moore Families are renewing their Adopt-A-Spot contract with the South Plainfield Clean Business Association to remove litter from the PAL Building and Community Pool grounds for the next two years. Pender and Sons Trucking has extended its agreement for the Willow Avenue Skate Park behind Borough Hall for two years as well.
Ms. Diane Pender checks the sites weekly to see if they need work. She believes it is important to stay on top of the litter problem in these heavily used recreational areas. However, she does not find it to be hard work. “Everyone seems to show respect and [there is] not much litter on these grounds,” she said in a recent letter. She said her family is grateful for the opportunity to take care of spots they enjoyed while growing up in town and still enjoy today. They are proud to be a part of the many Borough activities and town cleanups, and to say “We are South Plainfield.”
The CBA is looking for more adopters for parks. Cotton Street Park, Veterans Park and Walnut Street Park are available for adoption.
