PLAINFIELD, NJ - A Plainfield Board of Education meeting will take place tonight at 8:00 pm, and it is generating additional interest as parents and residents voice their support for the Acting Superintendent of Plainfield Public Schools, Dr. Debra J. Sheard.

Sheard started her tenure as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services in October 2016.  She has been at the helm of the district since February 6, 2017 while the Board settled a transfer agreement with former Superintendent of Schools Anna Belin-Pyles.

An April 13, 2017 press release noted the Board of Education said the appointment of Sheard shall be until it “appoints a full-time Superintendent of Schools or an Interim Superintendent of Schools or until the close of business on June 30,2017, whichever is sooner.”
